As We Follow Him...
Saying "Yes, Lord!"

I have been spending alot of time thinking about what saying "Yes, Lord!" really means in my life...
What are the things He asks of us?
"Will you be still?" ... "Yes, Lord!"
"When I say 'no' to a desire of your heart...will you trust Me?" ... "Yes, Lord!"
"Will you do that 'small task' that no one sees, because it is needful, rather than that big one that is more in line with your giftings?" ... "Yes, Lord!"
"Yes, Lord!" to me, means trusting and entrusting everything into His keeping!
I love the way Ken Davis shares about Moses' encounter with the Great "I Am!" Moses is feeling small, and God is asking a big thing of him...a new thing of him...a hard thing of him...Moses is throwing one excuse after another out to the Lord about why God's "idea" is not the best idea! (gulp!) I love that God does NOT say to Moses, "Moses, I will go with you and I will MAKE YOU GREAT!...But rather, "Moses, I will go with you, and I AM GREAT!"...
So much REST comes when we settle the fact...it is NOT about my ability, my lack of ability, my charisma, my fortitude...it is about me CLINGING to a GREAT and MIGHTY God! I can do THAT!!! I can cling...I can hide under the shadow of His wing...I can lean...I can depend on...HIM!
"Yes, Lord!" It is a position of the heart! I often share with women, that a great peace came in my life when I was able to take all those dreams and desires of my heart and place them in His keeping. When each day, I fix my eyes on His face and simply say "Yes, Lord" to what He has placed in front of me...today...this moment...whatever that may be. If we do that...if we walk and obey THAT way, one day at a time, one step at a time...One year from now, five years from now, ten years from now, we will be EXACTLY where He wants us to be, having accomplished EXACTLY what HE wants us to accomplish! That gives me great peace!!
